For the past six years, the Summer College Credit Program has provided opportunities for students entering ninth through 12th grades to participate in college courses that support high-demand job fields.
The scholarship was started by Nick Hansen, one of the founding members of the Iowa Mustangs Unstabled, and supports a student enrolling in the Automotive Technology program.

Aidan Venzon grew up in Muscatine. Though there were several community colleges closer to home that offered training in Automotive Technology, Hawkeye's reputation drew him to the Cedar Valley.
The program meets the strict industry standards required for accreditation in Master Automobile Service Technology - the highest level of program accreditation recognized by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
Through hands-on learning in the college's automotive lab, students gain skills in automotive electronics; testing and diagnosing; automotive transmissions; gas engines; suspension; alignment; and more.
